Lyka BoschGreenhorn BlacksmithHe's a Miner? He's a Blacksmith? Nope. He is a genious inventor.
IntroductionThe Bosch of Xan with splendid mining and combat abilities also easily attracted by ores and minerals, Lyka harnesses such power that comparable with warriors despite his age is still very young. Lyka is a Strength-type Companion with loads of disables, pushes and bashes thanks to his strength, also his skills are mostly have chance to stun target. His signature move, Shockwave, deals damage to all enemies and stuns by chance, meanwhile Hurricane strikes all enemies with dangerously spinning motion. His Rightbash and his ultimate, Greater Push are handy skills that capable to delay enemies' turn with tremendous damage. Even his normal attack may causing stun and deals more damage thanks to his Stunlock perk, making his normal attack more useful despite his lack of manapool prevents him to cast his skills frequently. After all, he attained Greed Core so he has Cruna Magicka ability that grants additional armor per unspent mana, making Lyka more durable in combat. Notable mention to his Form Change, his true and useful innate skill that makes Lyka more versatile and may take two roles depends on his liking; Form Mattock for better damage, and Form Sword for splash attacks. His Form Change affects most of skills as well, affecting damage dealt and chance to stun enemies, making Lyka being one of the versatile Companions yet handy and durable in combat.
Short OverviewPlays as primary damage dealer in Cruna Aktrid tale, Lyka's proficience in dealing lots of damage is unquestionable, and is open for improvements either by equipments, buffs, and of course by his Stunlock perk. His capability is scalable, too, thus Lyka's prowess in wreak havoc the battlefield with his unique contraption is still useful in later stages. Initially, Lyka's true power lies in his combination of normal attack and his skills, and special mention to his skills, he can't spam most of his skills because his lack of manapool limits his capability to unleash all of his skills that generally deal loads of damage either to single target or all enemies in area.
First, take a look into his innate skill. By changing his weapon form into another form, Lyka is capable to deal focused damage to single target or spread'em out to enemies in area with splashing damage effect. This ability is where Lyka's true power lies, and in conjunction with Sigils and/or buffs from another ally, he could dish out a wave of troop in single swing!
As mentioned before, Lyka's speciality in combat is primarily dealing damage. It's proven by his high attack damage, Rightbash, Hurricane and his ulti, Greater Push, that deal damage based on his attack damage. For his durability, Lyka has decent STR points (more than
Marvel in early levels), also his STR growth makes him capable to be tanker as well and of course, Cruna Magicka perk grants him additional armor that makes him more resilient to physical damages. In short, Lyka is conditioned to be both damage-dealer and durable Companion...
His low AGI and INT growth probably will make Lyka less effective in later stages, also lack of base armor rate will make Lyka degraded as the game goes on. So, Lyka must be equipped with correct equipments to support him out and pump his potentials up.
For those loving raw damage as well with nuking capability and don't mind about a bit complex controls, Lyka is more than enough.
Pros and ConsPros+ Insane attack damage in early stages
+ High damage skills in early levels
+ High STR and STR gain
+ Most of skills can be boosted by raising attack damage

+ Can switch his attack type into area-burst or focus-fire
+ Can be durable with his perk
Cons- Low INT and INT gain
- Low base armor rate
- Most of skills have huge manacost and long cooldown
- Must be supported with correct equipments in later stages
- Can't hit Ghosts with normal attack and most of his skills
BackgroundA bright lad from Xan, though he is not a Xan himself. He has an optimistic personality and considerate with the others, except about rabbit dishes. Obsessive about materials, particularly capable to forge with. He's the one who will listen to people. Unlike most heroes, he doesn't have any special tragic past or anything, and dreams to be a great blacksmith. From years of training, he at last made his first masterpiece; a Form Mattock, which is capable of transforming into 2 modes, pickaxe mode and sword mode. He attains his considerable strength from the days in mines, more than capable to protect those who beside him. Thanks to that strength too, he can create a damaging shockwave and fling some rocks of the floor below. An aspiring artisan and formidable warrior indeed.

SkillsForm Change"Shifts Form Mattock into Form Sword or Form Pickaxe, depends on current form. Affects Lyka's skill's damage and effects. Form Pickaxe grants chance to stun enemy depends on Stunlock level, while Form Sword deals 50% cleave damage."
[Innate Skill]
Switches weapon into Form Sword or Form Pickaxe depends on current form>> Initially Lyka sets his Form Mattock in Form Pickaxe mode
>> Has 1 turn cooldown
>> If Form Mattock is set in Form Pickaxe mode, Lyka switches it into Form Sword mode that deals 50% damage to target and 50% cleave damage to all enemies, also has 5% stun chance in each strike. Affects Rightbash and Greater Push damage to deal 75% of initial damage and grants 25% chance to stun
>> If it's set in Form Sword mode, Lyka switches it into Form Pickaxe mode that deals normal damage to target and has 25% chance to stun target passively. Affects Rightbash and Greater Push damage to deal 125% of initial damage and grants 75% chance to stun
Skill that makes Lyka hero. Useful in certain situations and splash damage from this skill is good enough only if Lyka's damage has been boosted since the 50% damage reduction from the weapon form makes his prowess of dealing damage greatly reduced. To know what the current form the Form Mattock, notice the weapon icon when choosing attack target. Cooldown of the skill prevents Lyka to re-shift the weapon form back and forcing him to do an action. After all, pay attention to his weapon form and decide the weapon form change carefully
Shockwave"Digs earth with his weapon, then slings the unearthed rock to target. Deals damage based on weapon's form."
Cost: 5/6/7/8/9
Cooldown: 6
Deals 15/27/39/51/63 damage to all enemies in area>> Damage is Magical, Melee and Blow
One of Lyka's nuking ability that dealing decent damage in early levels and good enough in mid-stages. This skill can hit Ghosts as well, and useful as initiation skill since it has stun proc that may help allies more. Since its manacost is high enough for Lyka in first levels, it isn't adviced to use this skill too often.
Rightbash"Swings weapon rightwards, drags hit enemy and stuns by chance. Deals minor damage."
Cost: 2
Cooldown: 2
Strikes target and dealing BAD + -8/-4/0/4/8 damage. Damage is physical>> Damage is Melee, Blow
>> It's an Instant-cast ability
>> Knocks target by 1
>> Deals damage and causing stun based on Form Mattock mode (125%/75% if Form Mattock, 75%/25% if Form Sword)
Lyka swings his weapon, dealing damage and knocks target simultaneously. Scaled well with Lyka's attack damage and its cheap manacost also its Instant-cast nature make Rightbash often performed before normal attack or his other skills. Its stun proc also can be one of disabling tools. Take it in first level and max it out to enhance its additional damage dealt
Hurricane"Swings weapon around, spinning then charges towards enemies. Enemies in area will be knocked back and still knocked till Lyka stops spinning."
Cost: 8
Cooldown: 9/8/7/6/5
Strikes enemies in area four times, dealing base attack damage in each strike>> Damage is Melee, Blow
Can be considered as ultimate skill. Without proper equipments, Lyka is impossible to use this skill till he reaches level 3. Damage dealt from this ability is high, but its cooldown and manacost may be the greatest downside of this awesome move. Raising this skill's level only reduce its cooldown, so it's far better to invest a level of this skill when Lyka is capable to handle his manapool problem and invest skill points into his other skills in first levels
Stunlock"Grants chance to stun enemy in each attack, and deals bonus damage."
[Passive Skill]
In each strike, Lyka has 15% chance to stun enemy and deals additional 10/15/20/25/30 damage>> Stun can affect Ghosts, damage can't
Of course, Lyka's brute strength can be useful. Perhaps 15% chance is small on the paper, but if Lyka successfully lands his attacks often the proc will be triggered thus damage dealt from this miner kid will be laughable no more. Since Lyka's relative slow and he lands his attack only twice if timed well, perhaps this ability isn't so shiny in early levels
Cruna Magicka"Grants additional armor based on current mana."
[Passive Skill]
Grants 1 armor per 6/5/4/3/2 unspent MP>> Armor bonus added indefinitely into base armor
If you intended to make Lyka to be durable Companion, maxing out this perk will work wonder. Armor bonus from unspent MP is really good for Lyka if he can manage his manapool and if he doesn't cast his skills too often. Taking a level or two for this perk will solve Lyka's armor problem. It's all your choice to make him durable or not by utilizing this perk.
Greater Push"Lyka dashes toward target after preparing this powerful bash. Knocks enemy backwards, deals huge bonus damage and stuns for a brief time."
[Ultimate]
Cost: 8/14/20
Cooldown: 9
Strikes an enemy, dealing BAD + 40/60/80 damage.>> Damage is Magical, Melee, Blow
>> Knocks target by 8
>> Deals damage and causing stun based on Form Mattock mode (125%/75% if Form Mattock, 75%/25% if Form Sword)
--> Master Staff Upgrade: Deals AoE damage
A move to finish a target out in single strike. Definitely knocks enemy that may compared to be pseudo-stun and deals huge damage indeed. In different with Rightbash, this skill can hit Ghosts since its damage is counted as Magical. Also gain benefits from weapon form just like Rightbash does as well with the stun proc. With Master Staff equipped, this skill turned into mass-punisher strike that the damage dealt splashed entirely to other enemies in area, making this ulti counted as one of the most devastating skill available
Equipments
- Talk about his lack of manapool:
Some equipments that increase INT, even Clover helps Lyka a lot in early stages
Novice Ring also helps Lyka's MP regen in early stages. Upgrade it into Ring of Teacher afterwards
Magus Pendant covers almost all of Lyka's need; stat boost and Replenish ability grants him additional source of MP
Bolster is all he needs to support his own regeneration problem. Upgrade it into Sigil of Warrior later
On the paper, Vsio's Guard helps Lyka a lot in manapool management. Armor and resistance boost provided from this armor is everything Lyka needs in later stages
- To maximize his potentials:
Master Staff is a must. Grab one for Lyka to boost his overall stats and improve his Greater Push
Need more speed? Take Berserker's Mask. Berserk ability makes Lyka a speedster and if fighting an enemy one-by-one, Lyka will be superior thanks to his passive disable that has more chance to trigger the 15% proc
Get Sigils, preferably Sigil of Swordsman and Sigil of Marksman
Sigil of Warrior makes Form Sword sharper and deadlier. Get it for Lyka since the regeneration boost from the sigil will help Lyka a lot
Dragon Heart trinkets are welcome. Preferably, Pyreaxe that grants both speed and strength to the miner kid.
Dragon Mail makes Lyka more than dangerous in combat. Speed and armor boost makes Lyka can unleash his potentials more
- Orbs are situational, if you decided to make one of Memento Gauntlets
Memento Gauntlets are less superior if compared with Sigil of Warrior alone. Perhaps if you want to make alternate build of Lyka, you can give him any gauntlets, but Chrono, Greymist and Sancuona are preferable
- All kind of Runes can be given to Lyka depends on your (or his) needs
- Rejected Equips:
Bloodstone isn't necessary for the miner kid. Most of his skill aren't spammable and he doesn't need extensive regeneration
Although it can solve his manapool problem, Aldheimian Headband doesn't fit Lyka. Give it to another Companion
Shields are good in early stages, but Miller Shield or Just Shield aren't good choice for Lyka. Take it if you want to make Lyka being pure durable Companion
Lyka doesn't need critical chance booster. Drop the Sigil of Assassin to other Companions who have more attack combo
Leave Grace trinket series to supportive Companions. Lyka's priority is to be a damage-dealer, not a supportive Companion
Return Damage effect from Banded Mail or Blademail is a shiny thing for durable Lyka, but remember that his armor slot is more useful for another armor than the mentioned one before
Also with Stunted Magic effect of Stratus Ring or Warlock Garb. With such disables, Lyka won't have a chance to refill his MP by taking damage

In-map quote when player doesn't take Lyka and take Ashen in party- "You can worry yourself. I can take care of myself, Ashen" | *Ashen hits Lyka's head* | "Hey, Ashen! That hurts!"
- "Want to see my Form Mattock? Of course, this is one of my masterpieces. What? You ought to believe that a kid may be a genius, he he..." | *Ashen hits Lyka's head* | "Hey, Ashen! Why?!"
Other Notes- Lyka Bosch was designed by wltr3565, author and project leader of Cruna Aktrid
- His age is 13.
- Has obsession to ores, inventions and mines. You can see him wandering outside the town looking for a cavern if you don't take him into party
- Being a blacksmith because Ashen's grandfather's works. Form Mattock, his weapon, is one of his masterpieces
Also Ashen's spear is designed by him.
- In contrary to Ashen who loves rabbit in its living form, Lyka loves it as dinner
- Has good and cool personality. He speaks if he needs to. Also, he can see what other people's feelings except Ashen's feeling to him.
Probably because she hits his head with such love but Lyka feels it as a real pain, not a love expression
- His theme, Lyka's Theme, is entitled "Battle for Your Life". The theme is composed and arranged by RolandMelvinZ.
Lyka shares the battle them with Ashen, who also came from Cruna Aktrid
- His name is a play of "Like a Boss" phrase. Well, you can figure it by spelling his name...
Of course, one of Level Up quote tells player about his name after yelling "Level up, like a boss."
- Has close, deep relation with Ai Shen Hua, as in Cruna Aktrid they're the protagonists
Of course, you can see Ashen hits his head often. They must be a close friend or something like that.
There is an unconfirmed relationship between them. Perhaps the Cruna Aktrid game tells us the rest of the story...
- We can wonder that his head is as hard as rocks. He can survive against constant hit from Ashen and perhaps we can see it as one of Lyka's abilities...
