The Universal Network v1.5 (First release in a series)

"The Universal Network" is a game that places you in the body of a young boy who's life at home is miserable, he decides to leave home and search far and wide for the answers to life.
Before he is able to leave his house a life form from another dimension/realm calls to him and shows him the universal network exists.
This life form transports him to another dimension and there his journey begins......
As the story unfolds he soon finds out that "The Universal Network" may be shutting down right when he begins to find the truth. Now he must embark on a journey to save life in every dimension/realm or else the secrets will disappear forever.
The Universal Network is a game that takes you deep into a dream world where anything is possible, limitations don't exist and time itself is about to be broken.
A boy who wishes for more out of life finds himself locked in an epic tale of travel, wonder, enchantment and knowledge that holds the keys to saving existence itself from disappearing.
The video game is a PC game that explores spirituality at it's depths. Through the game play chakras and blockages are presented as well as how to move past blockages, etc. It's a video game designed to teach whoever is playing it how to heal and grow as well as enjoy a game at the same time.

Main Character Name: You Choose Age: 18 Gender: Male Wanting adventure, he seems to wish for more then he has but wonders just what will come his way.
Main Character Name: You Choose Age: 5 Gender: Male This is the kid version of the main character, at a certain point in the game you venture back to the past to re live a childhood memory.
Main Character Name: Yuki Age: 17 Gender: Female Inter-dimensional traveler, who loves to venture around and experience life for what it is, curiously she never dreams yet wonders what dreaming is all about.

Wah kelihatannya keren, itu temanya india yak?,ada movie official trailernya segala, tapi kok sizenya gede banget yak sampe 300 mb +? coba di upload yang versi no-rtpnya jga, kebanyakan member sini biasanya udah punya rtpnya sendiri, sound ama graphicnya jga mungkin bisa di kompress lagi biar lebih irit sizenya, kasian member yg mau donlot yg quotanya terbatas, gamenya tipe puzzle yak? ga ada battlenya ?

The reason for the large size is merely because I the RTP as well as video clips in this project, so this can be played on a computer that doesn't have Rpg Maker's RTP's installed.
The game is adventure, puzzle based yes, what is a rtpnya?

well it's too big, even for puzzle based.. members here didn't have decent speed for download recently please understand.. okay, for screenshot i didn't really like *duh* facemaker faceset ... that font too way big too why u use different charset too ? well it's weird IMO
is the video very important or just for opening or some kind of that?

300MBs for 1-2 hours gameplay? Are u kidding me? And also the map looks terrible. Since this is your first project, I think it's acceptable Well, I suggest u to upload non-RTP version. Most of our member had RTPs in their computer

oh sorry I don't know you can't speak indonesian, what I mean is it's looks like your game has a hinduism theme(india is country where hindu religion formed) and maybe you can upload your game without including rtp version, so the person who already have rpg maker vx can download it with a smaller size, and who doesn't have can download the large one. or maybe you can compress the sound and graphic file with 3rd party program before compressing game data.

You did a good attempt, but as others said, most of members here don't have powerful enough internet connection to download entire 300MB. And if someone could download it, maybe he'll take circa 4-6 hours.
And looking to the screenshots, I'm not sure that you did the maps at your best or you have no idea what have you done... For concept, bringing the concept of Chakra is good, I can assure it. And I can tell you more things about this game if only the game isn't kinda filesize-monster. Try ripping some resources and/or compress them to shrink the monster to its smallest form. not to mention you should make a non-RTP version since the entire RTP will only cut around 40MB
Nevertheless, you did the good stuff. Well done And sorry if I can't test it right now because I got my poor Internet portions

Thanks for all of your feedback ^_^ unfortunately looking through the game files I can see that most of the file size consists of custom audio files I implemented. I am sorry to hear you don't have fast enough internet X( perhaps I can go through and try to compress it down. It also includes an installer for Divx codec that plays the videos properly, so that may be another one of the reasons for large file size.
I did implement hindu chakra system ^_^ was fun to make and thought it was a good idea

So I removed all the RTP data and still ended up with a 200mb package, thats without the divx installer. It def. is the custom audio files that are included. There really is no way in getting around it X( the audio alone takes up 178mb. Any ideas on what i should do?

Try to trim the audios, or try convert them into smaller one (at cost of sound quality of course). And what software for this job? Audacity is the free solution and yet simple to use. Grab one here >> audacity.sourceforge.net/
Another option is using MIDIs, like I did to my game (and save about 20-30MB compared to if I use MP3s and 10-15MB if I use OGGs).

Broken English ahead I can download a 300MB file, but surely I wouldn't waste my time download this. The Maps is quite unique yet doesn't make sense and feels like pasted out all over. Beside, why do I see RTP charsets mixed with Mack's? What's up with the mixed Ace generator faceset with Facemaker one? Stick with one if you should, though I don't like both of them.

Thanks for your feedback Indeed it was a very ambitious attempt for my first go and I might say it mostly worked out quiet well except for the lack of mapping skills I have hehe
As far as the music goes I only used a few of my own personal instrumental tracks in the game itself, others were from collaborators or royalty free, the videos themselves I just double checked are mostly very small as they are low quality avi's. (only 2 video files)
The videos are important scenes for the game non the less although I won't be using video for cut scenes in the future as I have learned it's better to animate my cut scenes in VX, they will look better
Funny enough I decided to go with different char sets and face sets near the end of the completion of game as I felt the original ones were lacking. I do understand, I need to stick with one set of face and char sets, although the smaller char sets were perfect for displaying a child in the scenes that were necessary.
As my first game, I did go through a lot of major changes as the game progressed and learned quiet a lot about choosing what to use prior to the actual creation of the game. With the new game I am making now I am taking a lot of time in developing compilation of scripts, char sets, bust images, tile sets, etc. prior to the game's creation to insure stability in the presentation and satisfactory usage with everything
Perhaps you want to see the new game idea I am working on now? It is entirely different from this game idea and has very little content to show BUT I am working on it

362.27 MB for 1-2 hours gameplay? I think you should reduce the file size. Your map look terrible. Use software to reduce the size of files that exist in your game. I suggest online. As suggested richter_h. But, since this your first game, I still can understand.

I'll watching this thread, once the file is settled I'll put it in my "Index completed games" thread if you would.
Some Map are decent, and other are really... beginner-work. Did you work with other mapper ? My advice is stop mapping when your mind tired. Refreshing (do other thing) and then return mapping.
For dual type of using chara (RTP and Mack) maybe it's work for some cutscene, but not in the same scene. And... yeah. the worst part is unconsistence using faceset
